Mark Saturday, June 7th 2014 on your calendar for the 13th Annual Run for Rights. Whether you choose to walk, run, cycle or rollerblade, this event is a great way to get some exercise or warm up for the Manitoba Marathon, all while supporting social justice and human rights.
To take part in the Run for Rights, you may collect pledges for — or make a donation to — one of the participating organziations (see list below). You may also do the same for the Run for Rights as a group, in which case funds are used to support all participating organizations. Everyone is welcome, and there is no minimum donation or pledge required to participate!
Please download your pledge form or donation form (below) and use it for your registration. All pledges will be collected the day of the race. Registration takes place Saturday June 7th from 8:30 to 9:00 AM at Kildonan Park, and the run starts at 9:30 AM. Please bring your registration form, your pledge money or donation, and a water bottle (water refills will be provided along the route). The Run for Rights is a “Fun Run” – participants will be responsible for recording their own times. If you are a MRA Youth Series Participant, your place will be recorded at the finish line for your series points.

Run for Rights is a coalition of diverse organizations working together to organize this event. Each organization is fully independent in undertaking their human rights and social justice work. The strategies and policy positions adopted by participating organizations are not necessarily shared by other coalition members.
Our scenic 10 km route starts and ends in Kildonan Park and and takes you out onto lovely Scotia Street all the way to St. John’s Park and back. Participants wishing to complete the 5km route will turn around at the first aid station at St. Anthony and Scotia.
On the day of the run, we encourage you to walk, ride your bike, or bus it to Kildonan Park for registration. If you are driving, please try to car pool with friends who are also in the run. Parking can be found on the streets south of Kildonan Park, and in the public parking lot beside the Pavilion inside the park. If you are going to park inside Kildonan Park, please make sure you get there well before 9 AM as there are usually several other events going on in the park!
Help us promote the Run for Rights by putting up a poster (or many!) at your school, work place or elsewhere in your community, or by passing one on to a friend.
